Bring on the flavors!
Spring brings us the promise of fresh food, especially vegetables. And that
means dips!
Among the most popular condiments in the US, dips are also served with
tortillas and crackers, chips and pitas, cubed meets and cheeses. They are
an easily and quickly prepared party food, bringing flavor and texture to
your favorite snack. Homemade dips are so much better than ones that
come out of a can. So think about spring picnics, graduation parties, or
just your healthy snacks, and use Daregal herbs to flavor your dips. Here
are a few tips from us to spice up your table:
Fresh Tomato Salsa
Farmer’s Cheese Spread or Dip
Classic & Easy Guacamole
Ingredients:
- 4 lg. ripe plum tomatoes-seeds removed
and chopped
- 1/4 cup chopped scallions
- 1/4 cup Daregal cilantro
- 1 Tbsp. Daregal oregano
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 Tbsp. olive oil
- 2 tsp. fresh lime juice
- Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions:
Put all the ingredients into a bowl and
mix well. Cover and let stand at room
temperature for the flavors to blend.
Farmer’s Cheese Spread or Dip
Ingredients:
- 1 pack of 7.5 oz. farmer's cheese (can also
use cottage cheese after you strained it)
- 3-4 Tbsp. sour cream
- 1 small red onion, minced
- 1 Tbsp. Daregal parsley
- 1-2 Tbsp. sweet paprika
- 1/4 tsp ground cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Mix well the farmer’s cheese and sour
cream, until desired texture is achieved.
Add all the spices and other ingredients
and mix well.
Serve fresh with vegetables, toasts or
stuffed in peppers or refrigerate till later.

Ingredients:
- 2 ripe avocados
- 1 medium red onion, chopped
- 2-3 ripe plum tomatoes or 5-6 cherry
tomatoes
- 2 Tbsp. Daregal
cilantro
- 1 Tbsp. Daregal
parsley
- 1 clove of garlic, pressed
- 2 Tbsp. lime juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Cut avocados in half, remove pit, and scoop
from peel. Place avocado into a mixing
bowl, and mash to desired consistency.
Stir in onion, tomatoes, garlic, and Daregal
herbs.
Add lime juice, salt, and pepper.
Tips:
Add 1 small jalapeño pepper, seeded and
diced (use gloves when handling) if you
are feeling bold.
