Darbonne founded Daregal in 1887. Five generations and more than 120 years later, the
Darbonne family is still proud to own and operate Daregal, and to continue

Thirty years ago, Daregal invented a totally unique preservative-free process for freezing and chopping fresh herbs. This method preserves the herbs' exhilarating aroma and keeps them free-flowing. 1887 : Amand Darbonne sets up business in Milly-la-Forêt (France) to cultivate medicinal plants.
1899 : Construction in Milly-la-Forêt of the first industrial free air dryer for medicinal plants and infusions.
1966 : Construction of the largest dehydration oven for aromatic herbs.
1976 : Launch of the Quick-Frozen Aromatic Herbs range.
1980 : Construction of the first mechanical refrigeration IQF quick freezing unit for aromatic herbs.
1989 : Development of a world patented manufacturing process: The aromatic herbs are quickfrozen and sorted without bruising or loss of aroma.
1993 : Opening of a production unit in Turlock, (California): SUPHERB FARMS.
1994 : ISO 9002 certification for all of our activities.
2004 : Acquisition of the Gyma quickfrozen aromatic herbs business.
2004 : ISO 9001 : 2000 Certification.
2005 : IFS Certification.
2006 : Creation of Darégal Gourmet USA.
2007 : Creation of Darégal Gourmet UK.
2009 : Opening of a production plant in Santaella, Spain: Darégal Iberica.
2011 : Development of “infused oils” with aromatic herbs.
2013 : Launch of frozen infusions.
